We are improving visitor access and protecting the environment along Cement Creek and the Yarra River at the popular Redwood Forest in Warburton.
Some paths near the riverbank will be temporarily closed while we build a boardwalk, viewing platforms, walking paths and fencing, and revegetate the riverbank to protect native plants and animals for generations to come.

We’re trialling a better way of collaborating to address challenges in the Moonee Ponds Creek Catchment, progressively transforming the creek through co-designing and co-delivering projects.

We are planning to transfer 280 hectares of our land to the Crown for conservation purposes, and rezone and sell the remainder on the open market. The land was previously earmarked for the Watsons Creek Storage Reservoir.

Melbourne Water will be conducting rehabilitation works to the Church Street Main Drain in Hawthorn between Church Street and College Street Hawthorn.

Melbourne Water has upgraded the Cranbourne Service Reservoir Tank to ensure it continues to provide ensure a high standard of water quality now and into the future.

Upgraded the electrical and control equipment of the pump station along the Yarra River opposite the entrance to Crown Casino on Southbank Boulevard. During storm events the pumps allow a faster rate of flow for water into the river when the drains are at capacity.

We’re undertaking a four-year program aimed at controlling rapidly-spreading weed species and revegetation with native species along a 2.3km section of Dandenong Creek, from Ferntree Gully Road to Mulgrave Reserve.

We’re taking a holistic approach to reducing flood risk in Elster Creek Catchment, collaboratively implementing the Elster Creek Catchment Flood Management Plan 2019-24 with the cities of Bayside, Glen Eira, Kingston and Port Phillip.

Melbourne Water is collaborating with Glen Eira City Council, Bayside City Council, City of Port Phillip, the Environment Protection Authority Victoria, and other partners to develop a holistic, data-driven approach to preventing litter entering Port Phillip Bay through Elster Creek.

Melbourne Water is increasing the capacity of the Elwood Main Drain to reduce flooding in the Elster Creek catchment.
