Melbourne Water will be upgrading the Air Treatment Facility at the Hoppers Crossing Pump Station to extend the life of the sewer and cater for the growing population in the area.
The Maribyrnong River Main (MRM) carries sewage from six major City West Water catchment areas to the Western Treatment Plant. To protect the integrity of the pipe and reduce the risk of the sewer failing in the future, Melbourne Water needs to reline this sewer main.
Melbourne Water is committed to enhancing life and liveability, that’s why we’re upgrading the existing sewer that runs under the Stony Creek Backwash in Spotswood, ensuring continued service to the community.
With the Pascoe Vale Road Sewer coming to the end of its operational life, work to reline the pipeline is required and will take place along 1.3km on Pascoe Vale Road, Pascoe Vale and Strathmore.
