Join Melbourne Water and freshwater ecologist, John Gooderham for a citizen science survey of macroinvertebrates at Lerderderg River.
About this event
Macroinvertebrates (or waterbugs) are very important for the health of the waterway as they are a key part of the food chain and can tell us about the health of the ecosystem.
- You will learn how to collect and identifying live macroinvertebrates using the Agreed Level Taxonomy (ALT) process.
 - Data collected will contribute to Melbourne Water's citizen science waterbug monitoring program and biodiversity records.
 - Children are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult.
 - Please wear enclosed flat-soled shoes, long pants and clothing appropriate to the weather.
 - BYO lunch and water.
