This planner helps you build a frog monitoring program for your site. The planner walks you through decisions on monitoring goals and sites. It's a useful tool for community groups and land mangers setting up structured frog monitoring programs and tracking changes in frog species diversity over time.
How the planner works
The planner will walk you through, step-by-step the process of building a frog monitoring plan. It will ask you for your monitoring goals and will use your decision to provide information relevant to your goal. Once you've answered all the questions you, the tool will generate a plan that you can download, print and share with other members of your monitoring team.
How to use the Planner
1. The tool will ask you for your monitoring goal - based on what you select the planner will advise when and where to best monitor.
2. The tool will help you prepare a map of your site - it will show you an illustration of ideal habitats for your chosen monitoring goal, and then ask you to upload a map of your site (you can take a screenshot from any web based map site, such as Google Maps).
3. You'll be asked to give each monitoring site on your map a unique code so you can keep track of the data collected.
4. The planner will walk you through generating a survey schedule.
5. Once you've completed a field check list you can generate your plan. You can download and print this and share it with other members of the monitoring team.
The plan ensures everyone in your team is using the same monitoring method so data can be compared.
You can use the Frog Census App to record frog calls, and any data you collect can be downloaded from the Frog Census App as a CSV file.
