We currently offer three (3) unique tours for your group. Please select your preferred tour:
(3 - 4 hours) The Future Water Story is a unique, immersive storytelling experience that is Melbourne Water’s flagship tour offering for community and industry. It combines a bus tour around the Western Treatment Plant (WTP) with either a technical or biodiversity focus, with a cutting-edge interactive digital experience called the Circular Cities Challenge. Set within the Education Centre at the WTP, this experience invites visitors to step into the shoes of community leaders to make decisions that help shape the future of a fictional city.   This immersive experience highlights the importance of water to life and explores how we will need to make our cities future-ready and sustainable.
(2.5 hours) Explore the Western Treatment Plant and discover the important role it plays in ensuring the liveability of Melbourne. Investigate the complexities of water management and the technology that enables sewage to become a valuable and reusable resource.
(2.5 hours) The Western Treatment Plant’s variety of natural habitats provide a refuge for wildlife, including some of the world’s rarest bird and frog species. Explore this incredible site (which is roughly the size of Phillip Island!) and see how the sewage treatment process enables the Ramsar-listed wetland here to flourish.
