Melbourne Water is removing the infestation of giant pine scale from Cardinia Reservoir and replanting the affected areas with native plants. These works will protect the local environment from further damage from giant pine scale and ensure the long-term biodiversity of the area.

Melbourne Water has released a new Maribyrnong River Flood Model to better understand current and future flood information in the Maribyrnong River region. This new model includes both 2024 and projected 2100 flood extent scenarios.
Melbourne Water is collaborating with Glen Eira City Council, Bayside City Council, City of Port Phillip, the Environment Protection Authority Victoria, and other partners to develop a holistic, data-driven approach to preventing litter entering Port Phillip Bay through Elster Creek.
