Melbourne Water is committed to providing the community with a safe and quality water supply. We will soon be commencing an operation in Silvan Reservoir catchment area to remove the large quantity of debris that remains inside following the June 2021 storms. This will reduce bushfire risk in the reservoir and in doing so, help protect our water supply.

The Two Great Ramsar Wetlands project is a five-year project (2018-23) led by Melbourne Water that aims to bring key agencies, land managers and community groups together to reduce the threats to the Port Phillip and Western Port Ramsar sites at Port Phillip Bay (western shoreline) and Western Port.
Upper Yarra Reservoir's dam wall has been upgraded to improve its efficiency and help us to provide an ongoing supply of world class drinking water to Melbourne and surrounds. The dam was built over 60 years ago, and was to be upgraded to meet current design standards.
Melbourne Water contractors WOOD will be replacing three ageing vent line conduits within the Richmond Main Sewer along Burnley Street, Richmond.
The Waterways of the West – Traditional Owner Engagement Project links community environmental groups based in the Maribyrnong and Werribee catchments with the cultural knowledge and land management expertise of Traditional Owners.
We are partially removing and replacing the western section of a lagoon cover at the Western Treatment Plant, as part of regular maintenance to ensure it continues operating efficiently.
