We’re planning to release environmental water into several billabongs on the Lower Yarra floodplain from September to November, to support their plants and animals.
We've replaced a 4.7 kilometre section of the century-old M41 water main so it can continue supplying high-quality drinking water to Melbourne's inner suburbs.
In 2018 Melbourne Water completed replacing a 5.7km section of the Maroondah Aqueduct between Gulf Road, Yarra Glen and Pauls Lane, Dixon Creek that was nearing the end of its service life. The new pipeline has a 150-year service life and is part of a system supporting thousands of homes and businesses in the Yarra Ranges and outer eastern suburbs.
Melbourne Water is undertaking works at the Mordialloc Sewer Pump Station located at 62 Chute Street (corner of Chute and Bear Streets). This pump station transfers the flow from South East Water’s Beach Road Main Sewer that services Mentone, Parkdale and Mordialloc.
From January 2019 Melbourne Water will be undertaking works to upgrade the O’Shannassy Reservoir.
