Melbourne Water has taken out Customer Experience Award at Ozwater’26, for its work on Future Water Story, recognising the organisation's leadership in building customer-centric culture and implementing effective, innovative service solutions.
Melbourne Water was also a finalist for R&D Excellent Award and Infrastructure Project Innovation Award.
Named Future Water Story: Shaping WaterSmart Communities Through Immersive Learning, the program offers a customer-oriented, immersive learning experience, bringing participants into meaningful conversations about water and sustainability.
Originally designed for Year 7 students as future water leaders, the program also equips participants from community, government and industry, with the knowledge, confidence and agency to make informed, responsible choices. The technology-enhanced program is designed to create a seamless, intuitive and memorable customer experience for all participants.
“We are pleased to see the strong outcomes from the Future Water Story program, including a 30% increase in site visitation last year and a further 10% uplift expected this year,” said Melissa Cordy, Manager Water Literacy at Melbourne Water.
“Survey results demonstrated overwhelmingly positive feedback from teachers and students, underscoring strong engagement, high levels of satisfaction, and clear learning outcomes.”
