Caretaker's Cottage
Friends of Yan Yean will give a 30-minute guided historical tour of the heritage-listed Caretaker's Cottage and the surrounding grounds. The tour will include displays of historical photographs, documents and artefacts.
Yan Yean Reservoir Catchment
You can also join a pre-booked 60-minute guided tour of the Yan Yean Reservoir Catchment. Walk through the reservoir grounds and learn about the reservoir’s engineering and architecture. Significant environmental features, including wildlife, will also be highlighted.
Q&A
There will be interactive Q&A sessions throughout the day. This is a great opportunity to learn more about modern-day operations and maintenance of the water supply system and the reservoir.
There will also be environmental and sustainability talks throughout day, with information on the environmental significance of the reservoir and a discussion about sustainable water management practices.
