Our Price Submission sets out our proposed services in water, sewerage, waterways and drainage over a five-year period, as well as the cost of delivering these and the prices we intend to charge customers.
It is subject to approval by the Essential Services Commission, Victoria’s independent regulator, as part of their periodic water price review process. It’s important to note that the prices for our wholesale water and sewerage services are different to the prices you’ll see on household water bills. Those prices are set by Melbourne’s retail water companies, taking into account the wholesale cost of our services as well as their own planned works and investments.
2021 Price Submission
We’re inviting final comments on the draft proposals in our 2021 Price Submission, which will inform our services and prices for 2021-26. This has involved extensive engagement since early 2019 to understand the needs of our diverse customers across the water sector, industry and government, as well as representative samples from the broader community who benefits from our services.
To view our draft proposals and provide your feedback, complete the survey on our Price Submission engagement hub by 13 July 2020. All comments received during this period will be considered alongside the range of views we have heard throughout our engagement program.
2016 Price Submission
In June 2016, the Essential Services Commission released its final determination on our proposed prices and services standards for 2016/17 to 2021. A copy of their final determination can be found on the Essential Services Commission website.
The new prices took effect on 1 July 2016 and are updated annually.
