Accessibility inclusion plan
Melbourne Water knows the important role that people with a disability play in our community and within our organisation. We are committed to removing the barriers that exist for people with a disability and their carers.
We acknowledge that approximately one in five people have a disability, both visible and non-visible and recognise that we have an important role to play in supporting and enhancing the life and liveability for them.
Code of conduct

Dam pre-release and surcharge policy
The purpose of this policy is to define Melbourne Water's operational practices in relation to pre-release and surcharge of our dams during significant rainfall events.
Environment stewardship policy
Outlines our commitment to protecting our natural and cultural assets.
Environment and public health management system
The aim of our Environmental and Public Health Management System is to manage our environment and public health risks (except drinking water quality) and meet the requirements of ISO14001, the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems.
Freedom of information
We're committed to complying with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 which creates a general right of access to documents in our possession, unless exempt.
Health, safety and wellbeing policy
The health, safety and wellbeing of our people are of the greatest importance to us at Melbourne Water. They are so important, that if we cannot assure them in the way we work, we will not do that work at all, or until a suitable and safe alternative is found.
This value applies to everything we do and to everyone we work with, including our customers and the community we serve. Collectively, these are our people.
Protected disclosure procedures
Our Protected Disclosure Procedures, made in accordance with the Protected Disclosure Act 2012, set out how we protect people from detrimental action in reprisal for making disclosures under the Act.

Reconciliation action plan
We recognise the intrinsic connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the land and waterways. Our Reconciliation Action Plan outlines the steps that we will take for ensuring we work together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to drive reconciliation and inclusion across our business.
Safety and wellbeing policy
Outlines our commitment to achieving zero harm in the workplace, where the safety of our people is paramount, and where people can count on a healthy, safe and supportive work environment.
Sustainable procurement policy
This policy sets the direction for Melbourne Water employees to identify certain key criteria against which manufacturers and/or suppliers should be assessed, when purchasing their products, materials and services.
Statement of Obligations
Outlines our obligations to government in relation to performing our functions. They were issued by the Minister for Water under the Water Industry Act 1994 (Vic).
The Statement of Obligations (general) commenced on 20 December 2015 and applies to 19 Victorian water corporations including Melbourne Water.
An additional Statement of Obligations has been made and issued to clarify roles and responsibilities in managing Melbourne’s water supply system.
Our additional Statement of Obligations (system management) was most recently amended in 2016. It applies to Melbourne Water and the three metropolitan water retailers.
