Greenvale Reservoir supplies the north-western and western suburbs of Melbourne. The dam was completed in 1971 and is a rolled earthfill and rockfill embankment.
Melbourne Water has completed works to upgrade the entrance way to Greenvale Reservoir Park. These works have improved the overall safety of vehicles entering/exiting the park by:
- increasing the entrance/egress way to two lanes each way
- improving the road surface conditions
- installing security gates.
These works are part of the Greenvale Reservoir Embankment Upgrade works which were undertaken in 2014 and 2015. Due to other works in the area, completion of the overall upgrade has been delayed until now.
Greenvale Reservoir Park closure
Whilst works to upgrade the entrance way to Greenvale Reservoir Park are complete, the Park is expected to remain closed until February 2019 while Parks Victoria undertake works to upgrade Park facilities.
We suggest visiting Parks Victoria for more information on these works and the Park closure.
