Melbourne Water wins prestigious state award for Organisational Excellence
Melbourne Water in collaboration with Aqua Metro Services claimed the Victorian Water Award for its Wara Paring ‘Come Walk the Path’ Indigenous Civil Construction Project.
This ground breaking initiative involves a 100% Indigenous owned civil construction business working on Melbourne Water projects.
Winners were announced at a gala ceremony today.
The Victorian Water Awards promote outstanding work by individuals and organisations in the water industry and recognise innovation in technology, business and delivery of water projects.
Melbourne Water’s Managing Director Michael Wandmaker said to receive a Victorian Water Award was important acknowledgement from the industry.
“The Victorian Water awards shine a spotlight on innovative projects, technology and talented people in the water sector.
“To be given the Organisational Excellence Award is an honour and testament to our people and the work they do at Melbourne Water,” Mr Wandmaker said.

Short-Cut Nitrogen Removal - An International Breakthrough Improving Effluent Quality and Energy Neutral Wastewater Treatment. A joint project between Melbourne Water, Jacobs, Barwon Water and John Holland-KBR Joint Venture.
Managing risk from post-fire erosion in water supply catchments. A joint project between Melbourne Water, Alluvium Consulting and the University of Melbourne.
Infrastructure Project Innovation Award (Metro)
Australia's Environmentally Green Relining System – A collaboration between GeoKrete, Aqua Metro Services and Melbourne Water.
Grasmere Creek Revitalisation Project – a joint project between Melbourne Water, Alluvium Consulting and Greenworks.

Delivering Digital Education that Serves Our Community - Melbourne Water
