Legal 500 GC Powerlist place for Melbourne Water legal leader

Melbourne Water has congratulated General Counsel and Company Secretary, Emma Braun, who has earned a place on the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Australia 2022.

The list, unveiled at a reception in Sydney, highlights the very best GCs and senior in-house legal counsel in the country.

Ms Braun, who has been recognised for innovation, quality and excellence, said she is honoured to be named on the Legal 500 GC Powerlist and to be recognised by her peers in the legal profession in this way.

“Melbourne Water engages in a breadth of activities across the community, which is reflected in the nature of the legal work; there are always new and interesting legal problems to solve and every day is different,” Ms Braun said.

“I have been described by my clients as solutions focussed, strategic and pragmatic. I like to think I make a contribution beyond the pure legal role, and assist the business to drive growth and organisational success without compromising legal exposure.”

A comprehensive research process, conducted over many months, is involved in the compilation of The Legal 500 GC Powerlist.

Ms Braun joins a select group of GC’s around the world who have already been recognised for their excellence in driving business forward. She is an influential corporate legal adviser whose role at Melbourne Water includes advising Managing Director Dr Nerina Di Lorenzo and the Board to ensure compliance with statutory obligations, providing secretariat support to the Board and Board Committees, and providing legal advice to the organisation.
