Join Waterwatch and the Friends of Organ Pipes NP and learn how to identify waterbugs from Jacksons Creek. You can also find out how to become involved in the Waterbug Census at your local waterway.
The monitoring day will cover:
- how to sample for macroinvertebrate including field safety
- identifying live macroinvertebrates using the Agreed Level Taxonomy System
Macroinvertebrates (or waterbugs) are very important for the health of the waterway as they are a key part of the food chain and can tell us about the health of the ecosystem. See the Waterbug Census for more details.
