Melbourne Water is committed to maintaining and improving Yan Yean Reservoir to protect our high quality water supply and enhance the natural amenity and liveability of the area. As part of this, we’ll soon be upgrading internal roads within the reservoir park.

As part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to reach the 2050 emissions reduction target, Melbourne Water is planning to construct a solar farm in Christmas Hills.
- Western Port
We’re undertaking a ten-year program to completely eradicate Spartina, an introduced grass species, from Western Port by 2025.
Melbourne Water is committed to providing the community with a safe and quality water supply. We will soon be commencing an operation in Silvan Reservoir catchment area to remove the large quantity of debris that remains inside following the June 2021 storms. This will reduce bushfire risk in the reservoir and in doing so, help protect our water supply.
