We’re working to improve the streamside vegetation and habitat for native plants and animals along a 2km stretch of the Little Yarra River in Yarra Junction.

We will be undertaking weed control and revegetation along a 2km stretch of the Yarra River, Kew, to improve the health of our waterway.

As part of our Urban Cooling Program 2021, we’re shading, cooling and greening Jacana Wetlands to enable the community to enjoy them for more days of the year.

Melbourne Water is upgrading the Lillydale Lake Wetland to ensure the wetland meets its stormwater treatment quality standards.

Melbourne Water has completed upgrade works to the Maribyrnong River Main (MRM) sewer, which transports approximately 24 million litres of wastewater each day to the Western Treatment Plant.

Melbourne Water has undertaken rehabilitation works on the Marina Road Main Drain, located on Mentone Dog Beach, to keep the drain functioning well into the future.

Melbourne Water is undertaking works at the Mordialloc Sewer Pump Station located at 62 Chute Street (corner of Chute and Bear Streets). This pump station transfers the flow from South East Water’s Beach Road Main Sewer that services Mentone, Parkdale and Mordialloc.

Starting around August each year, we conduct monthly mosquito larvae monitoring at the Seaford Wetlands and coordinate actions to control outbreaks.

Onsite works are now complete for a new stormwater drain to significantly reduce the impact of flooding in the area.
