Sewerage System Maintenance
We monitor and maintain our sewerage system regularly to make sure it performs safely and effectively. Our program includes:
Sewer inspection
- We inspect over 60 kilometres of sewers each year
- We use closed circuit television to check on over 52 kilometres each year
Sewer cleaning
- More than 9 kilometres are cleaned each year
Tree root trimming
Many sewers follow the path of natural valleys and creeks which have many trees and plants. The roots of trees seek out the permanent moisture in the sewers by pushing their way in through small cracks. To prevent blockages from these roots, high pressure water jets are used to trim the roots back to the edge of the sewer.
