Water scam strikes again in Melbourne’s south east
Melbourne Water has received reports of another deceptive survey being dropped in mailboxes in the city’s south eastern suburbs.
The survey suggests Melbourne’s drinking water is unsafe and offers residents a “water filtration system” to be serviced by the company issuing the survey:
Claims made by the survey are very misleading and inaccurate.
In truth, Melbourne’s drinking water meets extremely high health standards. It is subject to very strict monitoring and is entirely safe to drink.
The survey has been issued by a company that has targeted other parts of the south east over the past 18 months in an attempt to sell their water filtration systems.
Complaints about the marketing practices of the company have been forwarded to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
