Mailboxes targeted for water scam
Melbourne Water has received reports of a deceptive survey being dropped in mailboxes across different parts of Melbourne.
The survey suggests Melbourne’s drinking water is unsafe and offers residents a “water filtration system” to be serviced by the company issuing the survey:
Claims made by the survey are very misleading and inaccurate.
In truth, Melbourne’s drinking water meets extremely high health standards. It is subject to very strict monitoring and is entirely safe to drink.
Numerous attempts by water retailers to contact the company issuing the survey have so far been unsuccessful.
