WATER STORAGES DOWN 0.4%
A drop of 0.4% (6,955 million litres) through the week has seen Melbourne’s water storages end the week today at 38.9% (690,103 million litres) full.
At the same time last year storages were holding around 12 billion litres more water, at 39.6% full (702,389 million litres).
Rainfall of between 2.0mm (Upper Yarra) and 4.6mm (Maroondah) was recorded across Melbourne's four major catchments this week, while weekend rain across Melbourne helped keep consumption down with Melburnians using around 1,119 million litres of water a day this week.
Melburnians are reminded that Stage 3a water restrictions are in place until June 30 next year. Further details are available by visiting the Our Water, Our Future [website no longer available, visit Office of Water for this information]or by contacting the government water retailers.
