ANOTHER DRY WEEK BUT A SMALL INCREASE IN STORAGES

The continuing dry conditions and poor rainfall across Melbourne's water supply catchments again this week have seen storages rise just 0.2% (4,130 million litres) over the week to 38.6% (684,759 million litres) full today.

Between just 0.4mm (Maroondah) and 1.2mm (O'Shannassy) of rain was recorded across Melbourne's catchments, with the Thomson Reservoir recording zero rainfall for the week. As a result, inflows were also below average.

However, while we continue to see some gains into our reservoirs, compared with last year when we were already drawing storages down, reservoirs are still around 145 billion litres below the level they were at the same time last year, when they were 46.8% (829,858 million litres) full.

Stage 3a water restrictions are now in place. Further details are available by visiting the Our Water Our Future website ourwater.vic.gov.au [website no longer available, visit Office of Water for this information] or by contacting the government water retailers.
