MELBOURNE’S STORAGES AT 29.2%
Melbourne’s water storages have dropped 0.4% (6,957 million litres) this week to 29.2% (517,179 million litres) full today. At the same time last year, storages were 49.7% (880,354 million litres) full.
Our four major catchments – Thomson, Upper Yarra, Maroondah and O’Shannassy - received below average rainfall this week, with between 2.6mm and 5.4mm recorded.
Melburnians used a daily average of 974 million litres of water this week, significantly lower than the autumn average of 1,263 million litres.
