Melbourne's water storages are 29.9% (529,684 million litres) full today - a decrease of 0.4% (7,174 million litres) from last week. Storages are at a level 19.9% lower than at the same time last year.

For April, rainfall across our four major catchments was between 66.8% and 84% below the 30-year average, while combined streamflows into our catchments were almost 64% below the 30-year average.

Melburnians are continuing their water saving efforts with the average daily water use this week visibly lower than at the same time last year and in the 1990s.

Stage 3a water restrictions are now in place. Further details are available by visiting the Our Water Our Future website ourwater.vic.gov.au [website no longer available, visit Office of Water for this information] or by contacting the government water retailers.
