WATER STORAGES DOWN 0.3%

Melbourne's water storages are currently 48.6 % (861,843 million litres) full after a decline in total volume of 0.3% (5,054 million litres) for the week.

Storage volumes are now 3.8% lower than at the same time last year.

Melbourne's four major water catchments -Thomson, O'Shannassy, Maroondah and Upper Yarra - recorded between 3.2mm and 6.8mm of rainfall for the week.

Melburnians continue to heed the call to save water, with average daily water consumption for week less that the winter average based on the last five years. This is a very good result given the continued dry weather.
