Ringwood South Branch Sewer Upgrade Update
Melbourne Water has recently reviewed its forward works program, taking into the account, the range and breadth of priority projects currently planned for the next five years.
This follows 10 years of below average inflow into our reservoirs and the driest year on record last year.
As a result, the upgrade of the Ringwood South Branch Sewer between HE Parker Reserve in Bayswater and the Yarrabing Wetland Reserve in Wantirna has been deferred.
Melbourne Water will complete the current design work for the new branch sewer so that final planning and the community consultation program can continue once a new start date has been decided.
In addition, Melbourne Water is currently discussing with Yarra Valley Water and South East Water other ways to minimise the impact of any overflows to the Dandenong Creek that may occur following very heavy and continued rains.
