Before starting major capital works, we provide information to the community and, where possible, get their input into the planning of these projects.

We aim to continually improve our consultation with the community. We evaluate our programs and provide training to project managers involved in planning and delivering community consultation.

  • Drainage
We manage the drainage system that carries stormwater from roofs, roads and buildings through gutters, drains and channels and discharges it into our waterways.
  • Rivers, Creeks and Wetlands
We are the caretakers of river health in the Port Philip and Westernport region and manage the waterways; including river flow, vegetation and water quality.
  • Sewerage
We manage and maintain Melbourne’s sewerage systems which consists of 402 kilometres of sewers, pumping stations, treatment plants and air treatment facilities.
  • Water Supply
We manage the water storages, water quality and the distribution of water to Melbourne homes, ensuring everyone has fresh water.
