Statement of Obligations Outlines Melbourne Water’s obligations to government in relation to performing our functions. It was issued by the former Minister for Water, Environment and Climate Change under the Water Industry Act 1994 (Vic).

This statement commenced on 1 July 2007 and was amended in October 2008. The former Minister also made and issued additional Statements of Obligations to clarify roles and responsibilities in managing Melbourne’s water supply system. Melbourne Water's additional statement commenced on 1 July 2009, and was amended in 2012.
