Our Board
Melbourne Water's Board of Directors comprises a non-executive chairman, six non-executive directors and the Managing Director.
In March 2011, Shaun Cox was appointed as Managing Director of Melbourne Water.

Eleanor Underwood
Chairman
Eleanor Underwood took up the position of Chairman in April 2010. Ms Underwood comes to Melbourne Water after serving 10 years on the South East Water Board, including 5 years as its Chair. Before that she was Deputy Chairman of South Gippsland Water and a Director of Audit Victoria and The Water Training Centre. Ms Underwood is a management consultant and has private sector experience in General Management, Accounting and Marketing, and was a Senior Academic Planner at RMIT University.
Peter Vines
Deputy Chairman
Peter Vines was appointed to the board on 4 October, 2005. Mr Vines recently retired as Executive General Manager, Origin Energy Ltd. He has extensive experience in executive and senior management positions within the energy and infrastructure sector, holding directorships in various utility companies in Australia and internationally.
Shaun Cox
Managing Director
Shaun Cox was appointed Managing Director of Melbourne Water in March 2011 and is currently a Board Member (and former Chair) of both the Smart Water Fund and the Water Services Association of Australia.
Mr Cox has a strong background in large-scale water and sewage services, as well as a passion for innovation and sustainability. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Engineering and Technology Management. Mr Cox is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland.
Prior to joining Melbourne Water Mr Cox has held the position of Managing Director of South East Water and Chief Executive Officer of Gold Coast Water.
Warren Hodgson
Director
Warren Hodgson was appointed to the board on 1 July 2008. Mr Hodgson was previously Secretary, Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development, and prior to that Under Secretary, Department of Treasury and Finance. Mr Hodgson has a background in the manufacturing industry, qualifications in science and engineering, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Terry Larkins
Director
Terry Larkins was appointed to the board on 1 January 2004. Mr Larkins was appointed Chairman of Western Water in 2001. He has extensive experience in the water industry and local government and has been CEO of the Shire of Gisborne and Secretary of the former Gisborne Water Board.
Maria Wilton
Director
Maria Wilton was appointed to the board on 1 October, 2009. Ms Wilton is a Chartered Financial Analyst with 20 years experience in the Investment Management Industry and is currently a member of the Board of the Financial Services Council (FSC) and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). She is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ms Wilton is also the Managing Director of Franklin Templeton Investments Australia Ltd.
Dana Hlavacek
Director
Dana Hlavacek was appointed to the board in September 2011. Ms Hlavacek is an experienced finance executive with considerable experience with the treasury of Rio Tinto. She is a Governor of the Arts Centre Foundation and a member of its Investment Committee, and is also on the boards of RSPCA Victoria and Australian Friends of the Asian University for Women. Ms Hlavacek has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), Masters of Accounting, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
