Sponsoring Your Activities
Melbourne Water sponsors educational, environmental and community activities that promote the importance of protecting and improving local rivers, creeks and Port Phillip Bay.

Who can apply
Anyone can apply, but we are looking for organisations or activities that aim to ensure healthy rivers and water quality, while enhancing the lives of the general community.
Your activity might be eligible for sponsorship or partnership if it:
- helps us to have a better relationship with members of the community through education, raising awareness, behavioural changes and training
- is innovative, sustainable and creative
- connects people, communities and businesses
- helps us engage with the media, our stakeholders, the general community and Melbourne Water staff
- supports our functions, vision and goals

How we decide which activities to sponsor or partner with
We will give priority to projects, events or organisations that:
- support Melbourne Water’s goals and are within our operational region
- allow us to gain significant exposure to inform and educate new audiences
- broaden the awareness of our current projects and initiatives
- demonstrate a need for funding in order to innovate, or extend educational or research opportunities
- contribute their own internal resources, financial or non-financial, to actively manage and support the partnership
- carry out research during or after the partnership to measure its effectiveness

How to apply
You can apply by reading the guidelines and completing the application form:

Please indicate the benefits to Melbourne Water and how your project meets our ‘sponsorship and community partnership objectives’ (section 3 in the guidelines).
Please allow six to eight weeks for us to evaluate your application.
When to apply
Applications are reviewed by an internal Committee on the second Thursday of each month. All applications must be received by the Friday beforehand. Any submissions received after the Friday will be reviewed at the following months Committee meeting.
We review each application individually, but we cannot support every request we receive. If you have any queries, please contact us.
